About this work
A sketchbook page by Ariyoshi Kondo, dated 1826-1840, shows a turtle seen from above and from the side, two snails, and three pink camellia blossoms with green leaves. The drawings are tinted with soft washes and are accompanied by handwritten Japanese inscriptions with dates.
