About this work
This page from a Japanese botanical sketchbook shows purple iris blooms and green iris leaves beside a branch bearing peaches and leaves, rendered in soft washes and ink outlines. Two faint outline sketches of flowers and fruit sit alongside the coloured studies, with handwritten notes in the margins.
