About this work
This page from a Japanese botanical sketchbook shows two peony plants drawn in ink outline, with a flower on the left partly colored in yellow and red and a plant on the right with pink-tinted stems and leaves. Handwritten Japanese labels and a dated inscription appear beside the drawings.
