About this work
This double-page sketchbook spread from Ariyoshi Kondo shows several studies of bird feet and legs in orange-brown and pink tones, including a webbed foot with long claws. On the right page, a large dark-feathered bird body is rendered in loose ink washes, with annotated leg and feather details labeled in Japanese script.
