About this work
Pear blossoms in full bloom extend across two facing pages of a sketchbook, rendered in soft white petals with pink stamens and touches of green and russet foliage. A pale grey wash suggests a distant tree mass in the background, and a small cluster of unopened buds is drawn in ink above the branch.
