About this work
A large engraved-style print shows a crowd of men in dark period clothing and hats gathered on a frozen expanse, many holding curling brooms while stones lie across the ice. Snow-covered hills rise under a pale sky, and a few women in long dresses stand at the right edge among the spectators. The print is titled Curling, by Charles Martin Hardie, and is dated 1901.
