About this work

A colored lithograph shows the Philadelphia Zouave Corps marching in formation down a cobblestone street, with drummers in the foreground and rows of uniformed men in blue jackets, red trousers and white turbans behind them. Brick buildings, a white clock tower and a crowd of spectators in top hats frame the scene, and large American flags border the composition. The print is credited to James Fuller Queen, dated 1861, and is titled Philadelphia Zouave Corps, Pennsylvania Volunteers.
