About this work
A colour lithographic cartoon by Art Young, dated 1910, shows a large seated-figure statue on a white pedestal overlooking a crowd of caricatured men in top hats and suits. Many figures hold placards reading 'The Common People' and 'I Want My Rights', while bare trees frame the scene.
