About this work
A satirical print shows a row of well-dressed men seated on gold-trimmed sofas in an ornate interior, each labeled with a profession such as orator, editorial writer, college professor, cartoonist, and minister, with captions stating what each will sell. At left, a dim street scene shows a woman and a man in shadow, suggesting the setting of the exchange. The work is by Art Young, dated 1911, and titled For sale.
