About this work
A richly colored chromolithograph shows a Christmas gathering in a warmly lit parlor, with a decorated tree, a crackling fireplace, and a table of men raising glasses and carving a cake. A line of shabbily dressed figures waits at the door beneath a welcome sign, while a classically robed woman gestures them inward. The print is signed by Charles Jay Taylor and dated 1894.
