About this work
A two-panel political cartoon titled The same old thing, created in 1895 by Charles Jay Taylor. The upper scene shows a top-hatted walking delegate beside a worker in a checkered shirt and cap waving a banner reading Strike! No Surrender! Down with Capital!, while a smaller figure labeled Labor stands over a fallen man. The lower scene depicts a washerwoman with children and a sleeping infant, and a seated worker with his arms folded.
