About this work
This chromolithographic plate shows a white ivory statuette of a draped woman raising one arm, accompanied by a winged cherub seated on a shell base. Around her are gilded silver and gold objects, including a footed bowl wreathed in grapevines, a jeweled box with enamel panels, and small figures of putti and a gilded standing figure. The plate is attributed to Matthew Digby Wyatt and dated 1851 to 1853.
