About this work
This lithographic plate shows two ornamental pilasters rendered in tones of grey and cream, one with a Corinthian-style capital and dense relief of masks, urns and scrolling foliage, the other topped by a circular medallion depicting a hunting scene with dogs and a stag. The design is laid out on a brown ground with a publication line at the bottom. The plate is attributed to Matthew Digby Wyatt and dated between 1851 and 1853.
