About this work
A page of hand-colored insect studies from a Japanese print album, showing dragonflies in various poses, a cicada-like insect, and small leaves or sprigs. Soft grey, green, and yellow washes outline the bodies and wings against a cream background, with bamboo and thin stems anchoring the composition.
