About this work
This print from Chōjū ryakugashiki, attributed to Masayoshi Kitao, shows several cats drawn in loose ink outlines with soft yellow and grey washes and touches of red. Four cats appear in varied poses, including a curled cat, a cat with an arched tail, and a reclining cat, with two small mice at lower right. The page is presented on a warm beige ground.
