About this work
A costume design sketch in watercolor and gouache shows a woman dressed as a telegraph messenger in a dark blue uniform with a white sailor collar, a blue-banded cap, and tall boots, holding two envelopes. The word "Telegraph" is written vertically at the upper left, with the number 11 and the designer's name, Will R. Barnes, with an address in New York, inscribed at lower right.
