About this work
A painted costume design sketch shows a standing woman in a pink long-sleeved dress with a white sailor-style collar and cuffs, a red sash tied at the back, and a pink bonnet. The figure is rendered in watercolor and pencil on cream paper, labeled "Sketch 22" and "Penn." This 1915 work by Will R. Barnes is held by the Portland museum.
