About this work
A stylized costume design drawing in black, white, and grey shows a figure with a round white head topped by a curled antenna, a black bodysuit with white seam lines, and a wide white dome-shaped skirt. The figure holds angular, diamond-like shapes in both hands. The title "Joys-Back" appears in the upper right, and the artist's signature "Will R. Barnes NY" appears in the lower left, dated 1922 to 1923.
