About this work
A watercolor costume design titled Drummers, by Will R. Barnes, dated 1919, shows a standing female figure in a white, military-inspired outfit with a sleeveless tunic, a buckled belt, striped trim, and a tricorn hat. The figure stands against a loose rose-pink wash, with measurement notes written in pencil at the bottom of the sheet.
