A costume design drawing titled Lilacs by Will R. Barnes, dated 1919 to 1920, shows a female figure in a short bodice and skirt formed from clusters of purple and white lilac blossoms set into a woven basket. She stands beneath a curved arch decorated with pale green ribbon and flowers, and wears green laced sandals. The painted sheet is numbered 20 in the upper left corner and carries the designer's name and New York address at the bottom.
