About this work
A hand-colored costume design shows a smiling woman in a harlequin-style checkered tunic and short shorts with gold trim, black knee-high boots, and a tall jester-style hat with a round gold ornament on a stick. The sheet is inscribed "Black-Boys" at the top and bears the artist's name, Will R. Barnes, with an address, dated 1912 - 1924.
