About this work
A colorful pictorial map of the world shows mail steamship routes as dark lines crossing the oceans, with decorative ship medallions along the bottom tracing vessels from ancient galleys to the Queen Mary. Vignettes in the upper corners depict a dockside loading scene and a red postal van beside a post office entrance marked Post Early Today. The work is by MacDonald Gill, dated 1937.
