This triptych woodblock print shows a woman in an orange and white robe reading a scroll at left, while a towering skeleton with a skull and exposed ribcage looms over two armored warriors at center and right. The scene is set in a dark, striped-floored interior with a checkered lattice and billowing yellow hangings. Utagawa Kuniyoshi created this print, dated circa 1844.
