About this work
A richly colored illustrated map of Japan rendered as a whimsical manga-style travel guide, with cartoon figures, hot spring baths, mountains, castles, boats, and fish scattered across the landscape. Route lines connect stations and landmarks, and a printed timetable and fare table appears in the upper right corner. The work is attributed to Inoue Seiji and dated 1925.
