About this work
This triptych print by Utagawa Kuniyoshi, titled Gentoku mitabi secchū ni kōmei o otonou no zu, dated 1853, shows a snowy winter landscape of pine trees and a wooden hut. Warriors in shaggy fur cloaks and a red-clad child appear among the trees, with inscriptions and seals in the margins.
