About this work
A chromolithographic plate titled Mexico Map, attributed to Antonio García Cubas and dated 1885, centers on a topographic map of Mexico City and its surroundings with contour lines, lakes, and roads. Surrounding the map are twelve vignettes showing city streets, plazas, monuments, a statue on horseback, a cathedral facade, and rural landscapes with mountains and farmland.
