About this work
A chromolithographic print shows a man on a wooden ladder picking apples from a tree while two children below reach and gather fallen fruit into a basket, with a wooden picket fence behind. An inset panel at lower left depicts a whole apple with a branch and leaves, plus a halved apple showing its seeds. The work is catalogued as the print "Apple" by W. Crüwell, dated 1888.
