About this work
A craftsman in a green cap and grey apron works at a vise on a wooden bench, holding a file, while a large file with a wooden handle stands in the foreground. Bottles, tools and a hanging saw fill the stone-walled workshop, lit from a window at right. The chromolithographic print is attributed to W. Crüwell and dated 1888.
