About this work

A printed broadside titled Specimen Fractional Currency Advertiser, created by John Tanner & Co in 1867. Facsimiles of fractional currency notes in fifty, twenty-five, fifteen, ten, five and three cent denominations are arranged within a shield form beneath an engraved eagle and a ring of stars. Surrounding the central design are multiple commercial advertisements for Cincinnati businesses, including dealers in bibles, stoves, liquors, boots and shoes, and cigars.
