About this work
A printed chart titled Goff's Evolution of the American Flag arranges historical flags from the St. George's Cross and St. Andrew's Cross through the Grand Union flag and successive U.S. star-and-stripe designs up to the 1896 flag. Lower panels show government pennants, a mail flag, and weather and signal flags, with columns of explanatory text.
