About this work
A printed chart titled Fruit of Freedom shows a branching tree whose fruit are circular medallions, each bearing a state seal or scene and a label with statehood and population data. At the base, a woman with wheat and a man with a hammer stand beside a seated worker, and two framed vignettes contrast Old Despotism with Young Freedom. The sheet is published by Ensign, Bridgman & Fanning, New York, dated 1858.
