About this work

A decorative Art Nouveau chromolithograph by Paul Hey, dated 1910, illustrates the fairy tale Sleeping Beauty. A reclining blonde woman in a white gown lies among climbing pink roses while a richly dressed prince in a feathered red cap reaches toward the briars, and an elderly woman watches nearby. Smaller vignettes below show a royal court scene and a figure at work with a washtub, framed by a stylized green border.
