About this work

A colored lithographic print titled Baumwolle shows workers harvesting cotton in a broad field, carrying full baskets and gathering bolls, while others process cotton inside a open wooden shed beside a cart loaded with bales. An inset panel on the right presents botanical details of the cotton plant, including its flowers, leaves, green bolls and open fluffy bolls. The work is attributed to Goering-Schmidt and dated 1911.
