About this work

A colour lithographic school chart titled Kaffee shows Coffea arabica in the upper left, with a flowering and fruiting branch, a flower dissection and a cross-section of a seed. The main scene depicts women picking coffee cherries into baskets among shrubs beneath tall trees, while a man works the soil, a woman carries a basket on her head, and chickens and a red macaw wander the path. The print is credited to Goering-Schmidt and was issued by Leipziger Schulbilderverlag von F. E. Wachsmuth, Leipzig, in 1911.
