About this work
A hand-colored lithograph shows a busy farmyard with half-timbered buildings, a large open barn, and a variety of livestock including sheep, chickens, turkeys, cattle, and horses. In the foreground, workers gather potatoes into sacks and carry a basket on one worker's head. The captions below the image give the word Farm in five languages, and the print is attributed to Joseph Scholz, dated 1829 to 1880.
