About this work
A figure drawn in white outline on a dark ground shows a bald, mustached man in a heavy coat, leaning forward with one hand raised near his chin. Loose brown and grey washes model the head, coat, and trousers, and the signature "De Bever" appears in the lower left. The work is dated 1938 and is catalogued as a print by Lon Landau.
