About this work
A stylized figure with a rooster's head, red comb and yellow beak stands on a dark ground, its body draped in orange and yellow ruffles above a pink, grey and white layered skirt. The figure is rendered in chalky, textured pastel-like strokes with white outlines. This 1938 print by Lon Landau is titled Kip.
