About this work
A lithographic plate from the German periodical Die Perle shows nine jewelry designs arranged across the sheet, including a long chain necklace with a heart-shaped lock pendant. Other pieces include a bracelet, brooches with acorn drops, a locket, and a decorative fringed ornament, rendered in fine tonal shading. The plate is credited to Martin Gerlach and dated 1872 to 1873.
