About this work
A chromolithographic plate titled Die Perle presents eight gold jewelry designs, labeled a through h, including pendants, brooches, a bracelet and earrings. Several pieces are set with green enamel or stones, red gems and small clear stones, and the ornaments show scrolled and foliate motifs. The work is attributed to Martin Gerlach and dated 1872 to 1873.
