About this work
A lithograph poster titled Poster No. 5 shows a street scene before a shoe store with the sign Boots & Shoes and One Price Cash Shoe Store. Well-dressed men and women, a boy, and a figure carrying a boot-shaped package pass by, while boots and shoes hang from the facade and fill the shop shelves. Speech bubbles add comic commentary on the footwear. The work is attributed to Gibson & Co. Lith and dated 1878.
