About this work
A black and white lithograph shows a riverside scene at dusk with a crescent moon over the water and small boats on the river. In the foreground, uniformed men and a woman in a long dress gather around a smoldering fire, with a man reaching to shake hands while others raise hats and a torch, and a flag and horses appear among tents on the right. The print, titled Last act of the drama of secession, was made by Gibson & Co. Lith in 1865.
