A lithograph titled 'Sorrows of Boyhood, No. 1: I'll tell the Master' shows a tearful boy in a fur cap and knitted scarf, holding a slate, pressed against a snow-dusted wooden fence. Behind him a brick building with a smoking chimney and snowy street scene with several figures unfolds, rendered in soft grey-green tones. The print was produced by John H. Bufford's & Sons in 1852.
