About this work
A color lithographic print titled The pride of the harbor, published by Henry Jerome Schile in 1874. It shows a curly-haired boy in a red sailor blouse and dark trousers, carrying a fishing net over his shoulder and a string of fish, while a spaniel rises on its hind legs beside him on a wooden pier. A small sailboat labeled Columbia, a coiled rope, and a bucket of fish complete the harbor scene.
