About this work
A sepia lithograph shows a dense battle scene with mounted cavalry and infantry in dark uniforms charging across open ground under heavy smoke, while wounded and fallen soldiers lie in the foreground among scattered rifles and a helmet. A banner reading Republic 1870 rises above the melee. The print is titled Paris and dated October 29, published by Henry Jerome Schile, and its lower margin carries a printed text block in several languages.
