About this work
A chromolithographic poster by Henry Jerome Schile, dated 1887, shows a smiling woman in a blue bodice and white apron leading a black goat, while a man in a grey hat raises a frothy beer stein beside climbing hop vines. In the background, a horse-drawn wagon loaded with barrels emerges from a stone tunnel in a rocky hillside, with a mountain and small figures in the distance.
