About this work
This hand-colored engraved chart shows the phases of the moon arranged around a central Earth surrounded by clouds, with a radiant sun at the top. Cherubs hold banners bearing the Latin title, and smaller diagrams in the corners illustrate lunar aspects and phases relative to the sun and Earth. The work is attributed to Andreas Cellarius and dated 1660.
