About this work
A kneeling young woman in a red dress and white blouse, holding a shepherd's crook, gazes downward while two luminous figures appear above a misty clearing beneath a large oak. The taller figure in gilded armor carries a cross-topped staff and a pink mantle, while the crowned female figure in blue and red extends her hand toward the kneeling woman. This left panel of a triptych was painted by Hermann Stilke in 1843 and is held by the Hermitage Museum.
