About this work
A pencil drawing shows stone ruins with rough masonry walls, a doorway, and scattered fallen blocks across a flat, open terrain. A small figure of a woman in a headscarf sketched in the upper left corner, with handwritten notes on stone colours and the inscription 'Burak April 27 1868'. Frederic Edwin Church made this drawing, dated 1860, as a Drawing held by the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
