This oil sketch on paper shows a cloudy sky with soft pink and peach clouds opening onto patches of pale blue, above a band of dark, brushy hills along the bottom edge. Frederic Edwin Church made this work in 1860, and it is held by the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum under the title Cloudy Sky over Mountains, Jamaica.
