This large painting shows a church interior where a bishop in white vestments stands over a draped bier holding a dead figure in a dark habit, surrounded by kneeling monks, mourning figures, and processional banners. Above, a cloud filled with angels carries wreaths and flowers toward the scene, and two roundels at the upper corners show a cross and a Jerusalem cross. The work is a painting by Casto Plasencia, dated 1885, held by the Museo del Prado.
